Antique Standing Shaving and Makeup Mirror
This exquisite and unique standing shaving or makeup mirror features a tilting mirror flanked by two candle holders. Known as a 'vide poche' mirror, it includes a small tray where the head of the house could empty his pockets before bed.
The mirror stands on a brass nickel-plated base, with the nickel showing the charming patina of over 120 years. The stylized cast iron base adds to its antique appeal. Around the tray are three small hooks for hanging items.
A truly unique piece, this mirror retains all its original details and would have once graced a sophisticated gentleman's residence. It remains just as beautiful today.
