Set of Antique Bathroom Planchets by Porcher – Ceramic, c. 1900
Rare set of two ceramic bathroom planchets, made by the renowned French sanitaryware manufacturer Porcher, around the early 20th century. Crafted in glossy antique white glazed ceramic, each planchet features a cut-out notch at the front – a clever detail allowing clearance for a faucet when mounted above a sink.
Originally designed to be installed side-by-side above a washbasin, these planchets also look striking stacked vertically to create an open wall-mounted display for soaps, bottles, towels, or toiletries. The softly rounded edges and flowing contours reflect the Belle Époque style, combining function and elegance.
This is a rare opportunity to acquire a complete matched pair in very good condition.
