Reproduction of a biological model of a hummingbird bird. In the past, these kinds of biological models were made from flowers, birds and other animals. Exotic birds, which were not so easy to see in the wild, were a particularly popular subject. The small hummingbird is perched on a round plinth and appears to be in full flight.
The whole used to be made of wood and paper mache. The Berlin company Brendel, among others, was famous for the biological models that were made there around 1900. This model is made of wood and metal and the base of approx. 12 cm in diameter is made of wood.
A great fun object for a bird collection, a cabinet of curiosities or just to display nicely as decoration.
