Antique mirror faux bamboo

Antique mirror with a frame imitating bamboo after the fashion of the early 19th century when Asian styles came into fashion. Chinoiseries and Japonism were then reflected in all kinds of furniture designs. It was a popular theme for decorating a beautiful bedroom or boudoir and we see it in wardrobes, beds and bedside tables as well as mirrors.
