Antique bath Danto Rogeat. Price on request.
Antique cast iron bath tub made by the Lyon based factory Danto Rogeat. This factory used to be specialized in cast iron and enameled stoves but they ventured out at the end of the 19th century into the bathroom equipment business and started to produce as one of the first companies in France cast iron tubs with an enameled interior. Their tubs are still highly sought after, especially when they are in a good condition.
The enamel of this first tubs is slightly opalescent, the factory did not use a lot of white pigment which makes the enamel almost 'see trough'. One can see the grey of the cast iron and the colour of the enamel tends more towards a pearl grey than to white.
This tub is an excellent condition for its age and can be installed easily in any bathroom. It is a timeless model and would work well in any Victorian style bathroom but could also be a main feature of a very modern and minimalistic bathroom.
The tub has to be installed on a little pedestal/podium in order to be able to hide waste system since it has a slightly rounded base.
